WARRANTY TERMS
FOR BIOHANSA'S PREMIUM SERIES POSTS
Biohansa's warranty applies to fungal damage, rot and insect damage to premium series fence posts and battens. In the above-mentioned cases of damage, Biohansa covers the costs of acquiring the product (purchase value). The warranty does not apply to installation costs arising from replacing the posts. The warranty applies to Biohansa products that meet the following points:
WARRANTY PERIOD
* Six – 15 years (compensation decreases by 6.7% annually)
* Pine – 15 years, compensation does not decrease over time
* Postsaver sleeve products – 25 years (compensation decreases by 4% annually)
PRODUCT
* Biohansa's marked premium series posts and battens
* Pre-dried and impregnated with chemical impregnation Impralit®-KDS (RÜTGERS Organics GmbH).
* A post or lath made of spruce is perforated before impregnation
* The product is marked with a nail with the logo and year of manufacture (see picture)
USE
* The use of products must comply with the impregnation class (EN 335):
o HC3 – outdoor use, above ground
o HC4 – outdoor use, in contact with the ground
* When installing and using the products, the impregnated protective layer must not be damaged.
* Impregnated products must not be mechanically modified or damaged (e.g. cut, sharpen, drill, chamfer, halve, etc.). During installation, the lowest part of the post must not be cemented closed (necessary drainage).
* Products must be installed according to instructions. The warranty will expire if the products are installed incorrectly or used multiple times (re-use after the original installation).
* When replacing a damaged and rotten post with a new one, it is important that all rotten wood and contaminated surface are completely removed before installing the new post.
* The surface where the product is installed must not have seawater.
TERMS
* We will consider complaints submitted at least 1 month before the warranty period expires.
* Proof of purchase is required (invoice, delivery note).
* We ask that you provide pictures of damaged and decayed posts, and that you also provide proof of metal markings on the ends of the products.
* If necessary, Biohansai must be provided with examples of metal markings and damaged products.
* Biohansai reserves the right to verify all claims on site.
CONCEPT
* The warranty applies to Biohansa's premium series products if the damage caused by fungal diseases, rot or insects is so severe that the product is no longer suitable for its intended use.
* Fungal diseases are covered by the warranty if the wood cells are rotting due to a fungal disease. Blue or mold are not covered by the warranty.
* Insect damage is taken into account if pests that feed on wood have destroyed the structure of the tree.
The impregnation process and quality are in accordance with the European Union Standard EN 351. In accordance with the permits and instructions of the impregnation chemical supplier, Biohansa expects a long life for the impregnated wood. Biohansa does not assume responsibility for the impregnation chemical supplier in this regard.
Warranty decreasing over time - if the product is destroyed 5 years after purchase, Biohansa will cover 66% of the damage, after ten years the compensation is 33%, etc. The maximum compensation is €10,000 per case. The warranty does not apply to products that have not been dried before impregnation.
