Three key benefits
Soft and even | Dust-free | Easy daily care
A softer alternative to whole straw pellets
Biohansa crushed straw bedding is made by crushing wheat-straw pellets. Its structure is softer than a whole pellet and does not resemble a feed pellet. It is therefore particularly suitable for horses inclined to eat whole bedding pellets. The material spreads easily and forms an even, comfortable lying surface.
Use in stalls and practical care
For the initial bed, spread a layer approximately 20–50 mm deep on a clean, dry floor. The crushed material is already opened and does not need to break down like whole pellets. It forms an even, soft surface immediately and is particularly suitable for horses that investigate or eat whole bedding pellets.
- Daily: remove manure and visibly wet areas. Retain clean bedding, loosen it lightly if needed and level the surface.
- Top-up: add crushed bedding to worn areas as required. Consumption depends on the horse, base, turnout time and cleaning routine.
- Loose housing and resting areas: maintain a sufficiently deep, dry and soft layer in covered lying areas; add material according to weather and animal numbers.
- Difference from whole pellets: crushed bedding is soft immediately and looks less like feed pellets, making it a practical choice for horses inclined to eat bedding.
