Biohansa wood pellet properties

Wood pellets are a natural, efficient, and environmentally friendly biofuel made from 100% wood industry by-products and residues. They are ideal for both domestic heating and industrial heating systems, providing clean and consistent combustion. Thanks to their high energy content and low ash level, they are one of the most cost-effective and sustainable renewable energy sources.

Biohansa wood pellets are made from spruce, pine, and birch without any chemical additives or binders. The wood’s own lignin acts as a natural adhesive during the compression process. The product is therefore completely natural, safe, and biodegradable.
Wood pellets have very low moisture content, low ash content, and excellent calorific value, making them a highly efficient, clean, and stable energy source.

Applications

Biohansa wood pellets are a versatile natural product suitable for several uses:

• Fuel – ideal for homes, boilers, pellet stoves, and industrial heating systems.
• Animal bedding – excellent for horses, cattle, sheep, poultry, and small animals. Pellets absorb moisture efficiently, reduce ammonia odour, and keep stalls dry and clean.
 • Usage: spread about 3–5 cm layer in a dry stall (for a 10 m² stall, use approx. 9 bags × 15 kg = 135 kg).
 • Daily care: remove manure and wet areas; add a new bag every few days.
 • Annual consumption: approx. 1400 kg per 10 m² stall.
• Absorbent material – suitable for absorbing oil, grease, and liquids in workshops or industrial use.
• Garden and compost – used pellets can be composted, as they are fully biodegradable.
